Reviews about Rebecca , Tulsa Dog Trainer

Life with your dog is personal. Your dog trainer should be, too.

Dog Training Reviews and Results from Trusty Dog Training Tulsa

I’m happy to show my work so you can see if these are the type of training results you’re looking for, where your dog

  • is glad to oblige and not suppressed/“sad looking” when doing obedience commands or you tell them to do something
  • doesn’t need treats forever to behave politely and you don’t need a training remote in your hand so they listen
  • is as free as possible to be themselves while you still have control of them — on and off leash
  • gains confidence and becomes less anxious or shy once this training approach changes their perspective of the world
  • understands that listening to you when it’s important is non-negotiable, especially when excited or surprised

Formerly reactive Frenchie on a patio and walking in downtown Tulsa

Beatrice the French bulldog used to scream, bark, and lunge at other dogs while on walks and had a difficult time walking by kids, too. See us go to the Blue Dome District, the Arts District, and Guthrie Green for dog training in Downtown Tulsa, OK.

Dogs coming when called the first time, on and off leash

If your dog has been trained to come when called reliably, you may save their lives one day. Here are dogs of many ages and sizes coming when called after dog training with me. I hold up the training remote so you can see the dogs are coming when called to my voice, not the collar.

Dogs of all sizes walking nicely on leash, both next to me and free to explore

Walks are so much more enjoyable when your dog knows how to walk on a leash. And the best part? They can have the freedom to roam and get exercise but you can call them to walk next to you if needed. Effective dog training means your dog gets to join you on your adventures all over Tulsa or wherever life takes you together.

On and off leash obedience with teenage Labrador retriever

Taytum is pretty obsessed with playing fetch but wouldn’t drop the ball, so I quickly fixed that. We play so she can get crazy (with boundaries), then when she’s most excited, I teach and practice her obedience. This means she can listen when she’s super excited, not only when she’s calm.

Jack Russell terrier building confidence through instincts

Training your dog to ‘drop it’ when their instincts are strongest means they can let go of what they want to hold onto the most, like toys or even things they shouldn’t have. Working with your dogs instincts, not against them, means you won’t be fighting an uphill battle.

Giant Schnauzer politely greets complete stranger on a walk

Fiona and I were on a walk when we met a stranger in her front yard. Notice how excited Fiona is about her, but she didn’t need to sit, stay, or go to a ‘place’ to say hello without jumping or scratching because she understands not to. I don’t need to micromanage her to keep her from doing the wrong thing.

Ollie the chihuahua-Jack Russell terrier

Small tan dog with blue collar standing on pavement in Tulsa.

“Rebecca is an incredible trainer. We needed help with our newly rescued puppy Ollie. He was reactive with dogs on leash and with one of our other dogs.

She was knowledgeable about anything that came up each week between the dogs… We couldn’t believe how far he came in just nine weeks. I highly recommend Rebecca for private training. It’s definitely worth the investment for a much happier and well trained dog.”

Beau the Border Collie/Golden Retriever

Adorable black puppy with floppy ears sitting on grass in Tulsa.

It was a pleasure working with Rebecca! She was very friendly, professional, and communicative…

Even after the first session we began to notice positive changes; more obedient/attentive leash walking; calmer demeanor when approaching other dogs, calmer greeting guests at the front door. ”

Wallace and Jordan the Norwich Terriers

Adorable puppy from Trusty Dog Training Tulsa for training success.

“Rebecca is a GODSEND when it comes to dogs. She is patient, responsive and has great tips for older dogs or puppies.

I recently brought in a new puppy terrier to our household that had 4 year old dog. Rebecca provided insights and action plans… Now the two dogs love each other and play with each other all the time. Would highly recommend her services!”

Meeko the Labrador retriever

Puppy training session at Trusty Dog Training Tulsa with a black Labrador.

“We were so happy when Rebecca came into our home and helped us with our exuberant 5 months old chocolate lab, Meeko.

She had an amazing instant rapport with Meeko as well as the humans in our family which included our 11 year old granddaughter… I recommend Rebecca highly.”

Lucy the Staffordshire bull terrier mix

Two dogs sitting on a stone patio, looking up at the camera.

“We asked [another dog trainer] if he thought Lucy would ever be able to be around other dogs (we have many friends with dogs and so need this to happen) and he said she…. might… but he didn’t sound hopeful. Then we found Rebecca.

Rebecca was so great in helping us read the dogs’ body language so that we could know when to rein things in and when to let them be. And she’s been amazing in so many other ways, including basic obedience training. I can’t recommend her highly enough.”

Zoe the Yorkshire terrier

Young girl walking small dog on leash during training in Tulsa.

“We learned quite a bit from Rebecca and the pup has retained the training as we continue to enforce what we learned.

Overall we really enjoyed working with Rebecca and would absolutely recommend her for on-site, 1:1 training.”

— Alan M.

Walter the golden retriever puppy

Adorable golden retriever puppy outdoors in green grass.

“I would recommend her over and over again and will definitely use her when we bring home a second puppy :)”

– Sydney G.

Zora the Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy

Adorable puppy lying on grass, ready for training in Tulsa.

“Rebecca is very intuitive and knowledgeable. She provided us with great advice and tricks that really work.

She was able to address our puppy’s specific needs and behaviors immediately as they arose… Dog training with Rebecca is a great investment and we are very happy to have found her!”

Zari the Rhodesian ridgeback puppy

Adorable puppy lying on grass with a green ball and leash.

“I am not exaggerating when I say that Rebecca saved us… We loved [Zari] but we needed help learning how to communicate with her…
‘
The minute we found Rebecca, everything was better. We learned how to work with her and our every day became so much easier because we knew what to do. She is clear with her recommendations, takes into account our household and our needs, and helped us love our wonderful dog! She even worked with our daughters to help them walk and play with Zari too. We cannot recommend Rebecca more!”

Olive the doodle puppy

Adorable black and white puppy sitting on wooden deck with leash.

“I am so very grateful to have met and worked with Rebecca for puppy training– she has not only helped my puppy, but has offered so much great support, advice, direction and recommendations when I really needed it…

I SO appreciate being able to text questions to Rebecca. There were times when a behavior would happen and I would panic. But Rebecca would provide great suggestions on things to try to curb or change whatever was going on. It was such a help to know I had support! … Rebecca is incredibly smart and very well educated on dogs. Her degrees show that but so do her actions… she knows about different breeds and behaviors, and has such a wealth of insight on how to approach training.”

Kora the Old English Sheepdog

Cute white puppy sitting on pavement during dog training session.

“We have an entirely different dog than we did when we first started working with her and have a strengthened bond with our dog – knowing productive ways to encourage good behavior. We worked with her with a puppy and think everyone with a puppy would benefit from working with her.

We are frequently told by friends and strangers while out and about that they can’t believe how well behaved she is for a 6 month old [and that] she is the most well behaved puppy they have seen.”
